The thought behind the Heritage walk is synonymous with creating awareness amongst citizens to preserve the proud heritage of the city.
A cleanliness and tree plantation drive was also organized to mark the occasion at Nahargarh Rescue Centre and Elephant village. The gathered citizens armed with long brooms and buckets swept the surrounding areas and planted saplings.
Tourists were showered with a flowery welcome at the major tourist spots in Jaipur namely Amer Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall as well as the Tourist Reception Centres at Sanganer Airport and Jaipur Railway Station.
A song and dance event was organized by the State Tourism Department in which celebrities such as Shibani Kashyap, Rahul Ram of Indian Ocean Musical Group and Kabir Bedi participated. The popular Kaafila band also performed on the said occasion. TV actress Smita Bansal was also seen during the event here in Jaipur.
