Jaipur, a City with Its Own Metro



On Wednesday, Jaipur metro was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje at 11 am and the services was made open for public from 2 pm. It is 9.63 km elevated section of the metro with 9 stations in total and it is built on standard gauge that connects the city’s residential area Mansarovar to the business hub chandpole and also connecting railway station and bus stand which is near to the laxmi palace hotel, a heritage stay for your Jaipur visit.

Jaipur metro is said to be the fastest built metros in the country in a record time of nearly four-and-a-half-years. As per the details this line will carry 1.2 lakh passengers approximately on daily basis but in the worst scenario also it will carry around 30000 passengers per day. 10 trains with 4 coaches each will be making 131 trips each day between two terminal stations at a frequency of 10 minutes in peak hour and 15 minutes in off peak hours. Train service will start at 6.45 am to 9.00 pm. Fares are divided in 3 slabs, Rs 5, Rs 10 and Rs 15.
