On a Trip to Jaipur: Do Not Miss To See These Places. Part-1



If you are coming to Jaipur for the first time to visit this beautiful city or you can say, the pink city. Below are few places which will help you:

  1. Amber Fort: Raja Man Singh, the man behind the construction of Amber fort. It is a huge palace situated on a rocky crest. It consists of fort, palaces, temples and the big courtyards. The most beautiful part of Amber fort is the Sheesh Mahal(Palace of Mirrors) which is very beautiful.

  2. City Palace: City palace is situated in the centre of city and it is the place where the royal family of Jaipur lives. The palace was built around 1729-1732 during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Besides the palace there is a museum with an iconic clock tower in it.

  3. Jaigarh Fort: Jaigarh Fort was built in 1726 by Jai Singh. Since it is located high on a high hill you will have spectacular views of Jaipur and also of Amber Fort. Both the forts are actually connected by passages that are not open to use now. The fort has water reservoirs, palaces, temples and a puppet theater. At the cannon foundry is the world’s largest wheeled cannon, Jaya Vana.

  4.  Jantar Mantar:Jantar Mantar or calculation instrument when translated is constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh II. It is a group of 14 unique structures; each has its own fumction for astronomical measurement.

  5. Hawa Mahal:Hawa Mahal is a beautifully designed structure. It is having 5 floors and its pyramidal structure signifies both the crown of the Hindu god Krishna and the tail of a peacock signifying royalty and power.It was designed for the women living inside the palace, they can see the street below but the people on the street cannot see them.
