Nostalgic Moments at the Laxmi Palace Heritage Hotel in Jaipur

Being a frequent visitor to Jaipur on business visits, I rarely had the chance to see the city itself or have a look at the famous historical places here in Jaipur. My wife Fiona and daughter Pearl also had never been to Jaipur and it was also their unspoken wish to visit and see the beautiful sights of the famed city.

Some of our friends had been to Jaipur on a holiday and spoke volumes of the heritage hotel they had lived in. So one fine morning, we landed in Jaipur and made a beeline straight to the Laxmi Palace HeritageHotel. It was something that we had never imagined to be.

In the hustle and bustle of the city, the peaceful atmosphere and old world appeal was a deep contrast in itself. Though the place had a renovated look, but still there were visible traces of its antique charm.
  • The foyer was decorated with picturesque murals of Rajput culture and historic places of Jaipur.
  • The warmth with which we were received in traditional Rajasthani style was so awesome.
  • The rooms were tastefully decorated with antique furniture and the beds were so soft that my daughter nearly sank in them.
  • The place had the ethnic feel about it.
  • The best thing about it was the near vicinity to the local markets
  • One could walk out anytime and there was always transport available in the form of rickshaws, autos, taxis and even private and government run buses.
  • Last but not the least was the hot and spicy Rajasthani cuisine that we had so much heard about. So mouth-watering and spicy, that even though tears were pouring out but we just couldn’t leave the delicious Lal Maas delicacy and devoured it completely.

And then we did something that we had never done before. We licked our fingers dry to savor the complete taste.

Such a fun-filled place it was, that whenever we plan again to come visit Jaipur, we will certainly want to stay again at the Laxmi Palace Heritage Hotel.

What??? You visited Jaipur and didn’t stay at a Heritage Hotel!!! Now I certainly didn’t want to hear such an outburst from family and friends.

Though we had heard a lot about Jaipur and the wonderful historic places of the city such as Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Amer, Jaigarh and Nahargarh forts, etc, we really never had a chance to visit it. But now it seemed as though, our thoughts would be turning into reality.

One of our friends suggested that we cash in on the Kitty Pot Luck money and splurge the same on a visit to the world famous city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. The group instantly liked the idea and we set about making preparations for the visit. We bought maps and tourist guides, took out our knapsacks, straw hats and what not to gear up for the trip.
The enthusiasm of the group was a merry one and everyone wanted to put in their best efforts. Different roles were assigned to each one of us. I had the task of selecting a cheap hotel in Jaipur to suit our budget. A cozy and snugly decorated heritage hotel in Jaipur was the choice of our Kitty group of friends.
Hotel Laxmi Palace fitted the bill perfectly with its near proximity to all the popular destinations for sightseeing as well as transportation facilities. The host and staff were really friendly and helpful, décor had the heritage feel in it, food was excellent and the amenities were contemporary and sparkling clean. It suited us economically and turned our visit to Jaipur into a memorable one.  Indeed, a place to visit again with family and friends.

Our lovely stay at Laxmi Palace Heritage Hotel Jaipur

Being a frequent traveler and enthusiastic lover of historical places, I have traveled to most of the cities in India, such as Delhi, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. The delicate workmanship on the architecture of those bygone days, when artisans used to work without heavy machinery and electricity is a wonder in itself. These magnificent structures have been witness to centuries of rich history and heritage of India.

My wife and I had heard a lot about the palaces and forts of Jaipur, so we made a plan to visit it during our holidays. I was looking for some heritage hotel to live in. So I started my search for a good heritage hotel to stay in at Jaipur. My search landed me to the website of Laxmi Palace Heritage Hotel. It seemed a quaint dwelling that had an inviting appeal in itself. The prices were also pocket friendly and so we booked a Super Deluxe Room for 2 through Online Reservation system available on the site www.laxmipalacehotel.com and made travel arrangements for visiting Jaipur.

I must say that we got more than we expected with regards to service, hospitality as well as good food here. The staff was so courteous and helpful that they made us feel like a Maharaja and Maharani. The facilities provided at the hotel were really unbelievable compared to the paltry sum that they were charging from us. And boy, what tasty wholesome food, we both must have definitely put on a lot of weight in our 4 days and 3 nights stay at the hotel. Our overall experience was so satisfying that whenever we visit Jaipur again we will certainly stay once more at the Laxmi Palace Heritage Hotel and enjoy their hospitality. We can surely term it as being a lovely place to stay at in Jaipur.

8 Reasons to Love the Laxmi Palace Heritage Hotel in Jaipur

  1. As we alighted from the Jet Airways Aircraft at Jaipur’s Sanganer Airport, we were welcomed by a smiling chauffeur carrying a placard with our name on it from the Laxmi Palace Heritage Hotel. The man was dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire complete with a colorful bandhini turban on his head. The pick-up was in an Air-conditioned car and the drive was pleasant to the hotel.
  2. Upon reaching we were greeted with garlands and sprinkled with scented rose water. A vermillion tilak was made on our foreheads. There was genuine warmth in the welcome and it was really heartening.
  3. The interiors of the Heritage Hotel were artistically made up with paintings and murals of forts, palaces, kings and queens of Rajasthan. It felt like walking back in those olden days.
  4. The rooms were tastefully decorated with ethnic furnishings and the lighting was just perfect for normal use as well as night purposes.
  5. The bathrooms had running hot and cold water and were having all modern fittings in them.
  6. The beds were so soft that we nicely snuggled under the freshly laid spotless white sheets and fell asleep for a couple of hours to relax from jet lag.
  7. In the evening as we walked into the primly structured garden lawn a cool breeze whiffed on our faces. Somewhere it seemed there were sprinklers running that made the atmosphere pleasant.
  8.  As dusk started falling in, the aroma of spicy Rajasthani cuisine floated into our nostrils, tickling our appetite and we straight away headed to the Manuhaar Restaurant within the hotel premises and had our first taste of delicious Dal Baati Churma with the Garlic Chutney and sweetened glass of Lassi.
We will never forget the hospitality that we experienced at the Hotel Laxmi Palace in Jaipur, and so I took time out to jot down the 8 reasons to love the Laxmi Palace Heritage Hotel in Jaipur.
